Skid Row is officially known as Central City East. The district lies in downtown LA and in 2000, the population of the district was 17,740. There were also nearly 2410 households in the city. Some of the great things about Skid Row is the public transportation. There are quite a few local lines of metropolitan transportation. The community is served primarily by LADOT (Los Angeles Metropolitan Transportation Authority.
